Don’t forget about loft insulation

Now that winter weather has finally arrived it is a good moment to focus on the quickest and easiest ways to keep your house warm.

You could be losing as much as 25% of the heat from your home through your roof.  That’s heat you have paid for.

The good news is that the easiest section of your house to insulate is the roof.  If you have a bare loft space (i.e. not used as living space) your easiest solution is mineral wool insulation between the floor joists. 

It’s easy and quick to install (make sure it’s at least 270mm deep) and many energy companies will provide low cost loft insulation for you.
